POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION INSTRUCTOR

 

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology is accepting applications for the position of full-time MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION INSTRUCTOR.

 

Minimum qualifications

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent. 
  • Related Technical Diploma or Associates Degree in the mechanical/electrical field
  • Will be providing instruction in NCCER curriculum, mechanical maintenance, electrical, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, electric motors, predictive and preventative maintenance, variable frequency drives, motor control and fluid power, PLCs, welding, and machining.
  • Assist in recruitment and job placement of students.
  • Must be willing to remain current in the field by participating in professional development activities.
  • Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress.
  • Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports.
  • Maintain good public relations with business and industry.
  • Possess the communication/computer skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
  • Show evidence of good character, organizational skills and mature attitude.
  • Participate in facility maintenance.
  • At least 3 years experience in the related industry field.
  • Must possess the communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher
  • Must show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and mature attitude
  • Must be proficient in the mechanical and electrical aspects of the field

 

General Responsibilities

            Teaching, lecturing, and supervision of students in classroom and lab setting; evaluate and advise students; maintain records; participate in the development of the program.  Have experience in the mechanical and electrical aspects of industry.  Experience in welding and machining processes.

            In accordance with The Tennessee College of Applied Technology guidelines. State of Tennessee higher education benefits package.
